Tips for Small Breweries and Vineyards

For short production runs many customers use cut labels and apply glue on them to label their bottles.  Sometimes we get calls from customers that the label curls vertically and is very difficult to have the labels stick to the bottles without a lot of work!

Most of the time the problem is related not to the glue but to the grain of the paper!  Like wood, paper has a grain to it.  Take a paper and thoroughly wet it… the direction of the curl of the paper is the direction of the grain of the paper.

If you glue a label onto a round bottle and the grain of the paper is vertical, you will have a difficult time getting the label to stick.  With horizontal grain the label will adhere much better!

The Gluefast Label Pro 5.5 gluer is great for applying glue onto these labels.  It applies a thin film of glue and is available as a manual or electric gluer.  Our GF 774T adhesive offers great adhesion and water resistance.
